Today we had Jacob's 6 month check-up since his initial cardiologist appointment. We were praying for no change. Jacob's heart condition will never get better so the best news we can ever get is no change since the last visit. And that is exactly what we got. No change! YAY!
The doctor was very pleased with that since Jacob's valve is already narrowed; more than it should be for a 5 year old. I think the doctor was actually expecting to see a change and you could see the relief on his face when he saw none.
Jacob will go back again in 6 months and if there is no progression, we will go to yearly visits. Jacob is still not limited in doing anything except for contact sports like football or wrestling. He did say Jacob could play soccer though.
Unless Jacob complains of chest pains or starts really getting tired too easily, we will Dr. Telep again in 6 months.
