Big Girl Jenna

I just wanted to take a minute to brag on Miss Jenna. Since our last potty post, she's only had one accident. She was upstairs playing and it was one of those "got wrapped up in playing with my toys, waited too long before I got up and didn't make it in time" accidents. She wears panties all day and Pull-Ups at night (although at least 3 times, Mommy has forgotten to put the Pull-Up on at night and she woke up dry anyway!) and is doing awesome. I'm so proud of her. She still runs out of the bathroom after every occurrence to let everyone know what business she completed. The other kids are being so great about still cheering her on, although I think they are over it.

One word of advice. Do NOT call Jenna a little girl or a baby. She is a BIG GIRL. Babies wear diapers and little girls wear Pull-Ups. Big Girls wear panties and it's OK to wear Pull-Ups at night if you are a big girl.

Once again, it just shows you that until the child is ready, it's not going to happen. Sure you can train yourself to put them on that potty all throughout the day but YOUR CHILD being fully potty trained, announcing that they have to go and doing it themselves, isn't going to happen until they are good and ready. For some that is at 20 months and others not until well after 3 years old. Doesn't matter when it happens; it is just as sweet whenever it does.

  1. Way to go, Jenna! I've been having SUCH a hard time with Dallas. Same as Jenna...he was ok with peeing but absolutely refused to poop in the potty. He had his "Momma, I gotta go poop!" moment last week and has been doing GREAT ever since. Thank goodness...I was beginning to worry I'd have to send him to high school still wearing a pull-up! :P
